Humor. Re: Money2020

by Larry Chiang on September 28, 2015

Larry Chiang landed on the New York Times Best Selling list by pre-rolling and pre-promoting months-and-months before the “09-09-09” launch of What They Don’t Teach You At Stanford Business School. Hollywood optioned WTDTYASBS’s scene treatments because as CEO of Duck9, he hosted film festival parties at Sundance and SXSW. He’s testified before Congress and during TV interviews he tracks his own “mentor mentions per press interview” (#MMPPI) His mentors are Gerri Detweiler and Mark McCormack. Yes Gerri Detweiler of “Ultimate Credit Handbook” fame and Mark McCormack of, “What They Don’t Teach You at Harvard Business School” fame. Gain an entrepreneurship advantage by staying in the Venetian Hotel that doubles as the convention center.

Hi Rob Wells,
cc Andrew Morris and Chris Souther

Note: this purely sets aside all things Duck9. No one wants to hear anything about the state of FICO score preparation. Boring.

I came to discover Money 20/20 because of your retweeting, this tweet:

Larry Chiang (@LarryChiang)

…and coincidentally Lora Kolodny

Lora brought up Money2020 at TechCrunch Disrupt. The same day of your retweet, she asked if I was hosting anything in Las Vegas for “#Money2020“. We were at the Pier 70 parking lot for TechCrunch Disrupt.

Brady is my shih tzu!! He was named in the midst of Tom Brady’s 4 game suspension. He’s 4.5 months old and goes everywhere.
Lora Kolodny (@lorakolodny)
@LarryChiang @money2020 wut? was interested in attending personally but don’t want to speak there. just network, learn & report. :p

I scoured the  #Money2020 agenda with the thought: What current content can I take from worst to first!? What can I make go from worst to first without leaving Palo Alto?

The BitCoin, blockchain panel

The blockchain panel can go from worst to first. Have both panelists and John, the moderator, answer: “What do you think when you hear the phrase rollerChain?”

Say it came from my Twitter account.
Blame my Twitter account.

John Biggs moderated the techcrunch disrupt panel. He does not yet know of Roller Chain. I have zero financial benefit. I don’t have a dog in this fight. I just curate.

I did a video that dovetails seeing Money, 20/20. This video takes jargon, “crossing the chasm FROM THE RIGHT” and applies it to the real world where innovation is trying to survive.

And thrive.

This is what Lora thought.
Lora Kolodny (@lorakolodny)
@LarryChiang bloop! no spin zone. now watching your roller chain vid. “before you know it… everyone hugs you and you are poor”

Missing. Humorous keynote that is edutainment. Education and entertainment. That way, if it’s not funny, at least it was educational

Or, do a keynote where some comedian just reads people’s best tweets Subj: “money in the year 2020“.

Get it?! Money in the Year 2020’s
– the name of your conference.
– ask people to tweet predictions for the year 2020
– double entendre of seeing money clearly.
– activates your hashtag if nothing else #money2020.
– manufactures a reason for people to get a Twitter account finally bc you will hand out Venetian house chips for tweet. Lol #gamification.
– I will just retweet and #Money2020 will trend

Only in Silicon Valley do people value this Waze jacket more than a Brioni tuxedo James Bond wears. (Waze did what blockchain is trying.)

Larry – As promised via twitter here is our content team. I know we are pretty close to being full on the moderating front, if not completely full, but these guys will be able to see if there is a fit.
Kind regards,
Rob
