Robot Duck: a FICO Score Augmenting Stuffed Animal Duck That Helps VCs with Their FICO Credit Score

by Larry Chiang on April 10, 2012

Larry Chiang ranges between delta male and alpha male almost as comfortably as Jesus toggles between alpha to omega. He teaches Stanford Engineering’s class on “technology entrepreneurship” called Engineering 145. Street smarts is the focus of his triple threat columns (CNN /Yahoo / Bloomberg BusinessWeek)  “What They Don’t Teach You at Business School”. He learned being street smart from his Ivy league mentor who wen to to Yale law but wrote about Harvard Business School. After Chiang’s Harvard Law keynote, Harvard Business wrote: “What They Don’t Teach You at Stanford Business School“ (it’s the same title as his NY Times bestseller). He is also EIR, Entrepreneur in Residence, at Stanford University where he is attempting to Pivot SLAC. If you read his hilariously awesome “What a Supermodel Can Teach a Stanford MBA”, “How to Get Man-Charm”, and pattern recognized the Duck9 rebate… you will love his latest post before Mega Startup Weekend in Mountain View, California April 13 -15:

Robot Duck: a FICO Score Augmenting Stuffed Animal Duck that Hacks VC Credit Scores

STANFORD CALIFORNIA —

by Larry Chiang

My lulu lemon shopping bag told me: “Do something everyday that scares you”

Well, pitching at my third time at a startup weekend scares the ba-hey-zues out of me. You see, Steve Blank told me that VCs need to be entrepreneurial. I execute what smart people write about.

I executed Gerri Detweiler’s “Ultimate Credit Handbook”
I executed Mark McCormack’s seminal tome: WTDTYAHBS

Now I am executing Steve Blank’s “steel in their eyes” post.  It is part of my MVEE4VC. It stands for minimum viable entrepreneur experience for VCs.

Oh and I am executing Mark Cuban’s two blog posts

At Mega Startup weekend, I am a robot engineer where I will be developing, launching (and maybe selling?!) a robot duck that helps VCs with their FICO score. The average FICO score of a college student I mentor is 775. The average VC FICO score working in the 94025 is 678. True story.
