Donuts Move the Needle for Stanford Engineers

by Larry Chiang on February 20, 2018

Here to expose a basic truth: Few care about your innovation that’s technological.
I place Elon Musk as a Top 200 tech founder under 200 yo. But, even being ranked number one we still need to get people to care.

People not answering your email in the office?

@here in the #general channel in Slack and announce there’s leftover doughnuts by your desk.

Got job hunting woes!?!

Problem: Few cared about innovation in marketing communication as it relates to delivery services for food like postmates.

Solution: Deliver donuts along with your resume. Video credit Channel 7, ABC NEWS San Francisco, California.

@iamdevloper @here The dotted line – – – = email.

The solid line = donut.Because I discovered dinosaurs and fossils care about timely delivery of Mon morning donuts. They cared little for my #chemEng297 or/and slew of engineering awards for heat transfer. Thus, #cs183donut like me and Elon Musk!

Problem: Few cared about innovative water treatment chemical even when a chemE salesperson was mentoring them.

Solution: Deliver donuts.

Elon Musk took this protocol to new heights (#sextupleEntendre, intended). He hands out donuts to people in our mall waiting to hand money in for a car

When you’re selling something INNOVATIVE, it’s helpful to utilize a donut via Elon Musk and #LarryChiang’s signature business recipe, #cs183donut
