Excavating the Reasons Why the 139.96 Braun Power Cord Sells at Exorbitant Levels

by Larry Chiang on December 17, 2014

Larry Chiang helps sorority girls to get a FICO up over 750. Duck9 was birthed as an undergrad. He started Duck9 as a sequel business with his co-founder. It’s Deep Underground Credit Knowledge 9. After a Harvard Law School keynote, Harvard Business wrote: “What They Don’t Teach You at Stanford Business School“. He self studied an MBA and self funded his college startup

I curated my way to be the “third institution of Silicon Valley”. This blog posts gets you into entrepreneur insights late and will leave you with more questions than answers.
This. Is. The. Way. To. Blog. At. The. Highest. Levels.
If you’d like a post written at the 8th grade level, see my VentureBeat, GigaOm, TechCrunch, Business Insider, Business Week, CNN pieces. THIS post is meant to be uploaded into the cerebral cortex of a SOPH or junior in CS. If you’re to old or too dumb, you will hate this.
And hate me :-))
This counterintuitive, difficult-to-swallow truth: “Alpha males pay for THE entertaining and THE useful”. If you have studied “PUA” or NLP, this is PUA (but to charm older male CEO executives)
Truth: Most startups fail because they’re crossing the chasm from the left. Geoffrey Moore wrote of this four books ago: “Chasm”
The exercise of selling (err Arbitraging) Braun power cords is a pop up internship. Self study. Self executing. It takes seven hours (total). Self study pop up internship 1: Braun power cord arbitrage. Self execute as per
[Yup, this is a sequel blog post to https://bit.ly/mcuban710 where Mr Mark Cuban recommends the practice of selling shoelaces. Selling power cords goes right before. You won’t have to talk. You can practice selling without talking. You as CS majors can practice without talking]

Then sell via talking (I engineered 6 internships where you practice SELLING without having to talk:-)

Why do people pay $139.96 for an old #Braun power cord!?! #EUBM bit.ly/mcuban710a pic.twitter.com/rohY2lhN0B

LESSON: Engineer Up a Business Model. The idea is to build confidence. The idea is to make real $$$ selling the 7030458 for 109.oo – $139.95 (thus therefore, you undercut me in the market).

LESSON: This pop up internship #1, activates the ENGR 145/ Engr 245 textbook “BUSINESS MODEL GENERATION”
Here is what was texted to me when I, LARRY CHIANG, asked “Why did you pay me $139.96 via PayPal!?”

No, I have had that braun shaver for a few years. The metal piece on the end of the power cord broke off, after super gluing it many times it eventually didn’t send a charge to the shaver. I was reluctant to pay the price you were asking for the charger and ended up buying a new panasonic shaver for about $230. I have been using it for about 4 months, but it doesn’t shave as well as the old braun. So, I bit the bullet and forked over the money you were asking for the charger, reluctantly.

LARRY CHIANG: You and many many others.
Another customer that I sold to said this RIGHT IN THEIR PAYPAL RECEIPT

ENGR 145 is technology entrepreneurship. As a Stanford class, it explored the cutting edge of startup education. My curation of the #ENGR145 hashtag activates the knowledge inside that curriculum.
“I mean why take an entrepreneurship class if you can’t apply what you learned to make real cash money??”
— Larry Chiang
Oh, I also curate the #CS183b feed. It is also a class on entrepreneurship inside the engineering school called “How to Start a Startup”. Yup…
“The best of the best in Entrepreneurship education is at the engineering school at Stanford University”
— Larry Chiang
My two anchor videos move you to the right on the entrepreneur bell curve
These are as self-evident as Euclidean geometry you aced as a Freshman in high school. They call it “Crossing the Chasm from the RIGHT”. HBS called it the “Fifth Epiphany”*
