1ss is “one semester startup”. In one semester, you start a startup in one semester. ENGR 145 is a class where you start a company in one quarter at Stanford.<\/p>\n
Does your college have a class like this?! I put ENGR 145 unofficially at University of Pennsylvania (Wharton).<\/p>\n
By “speed dating” it means meeting UT undergrads as pre-entrepreneurs. You’re supposed to walk in with a list of skills. And then “hook up” with other similarly newbie pre-preneurs.<\/p>\n
This is how I, Larry Chiang would do it.<\/p>\n
DISCLOSURE: I screwed up my baseball career with a legendary coach, Augie Garrido because I didn’t properly prepare. I learned my lesson and kick plenty of butt now.<\/p>\n
TACTIC STRATEGY #1<\/p>\n
I’d master “1 semester Startup’s” version at Stanford. It’s called ‘engineering 145’. By master I mean spend 3 hrs cramming and preparing and googling and reading. I would start with this video that took me three years to boil down (mechanical engineering pun intended).<\/p>\n
