He was not assigned a mentor, he had to hustle for one. And what a whale of a mentor, Mark McCormack, was and is. Neither Chiang, nor his mentor, McCormack, went to Harvard Business School. But after Mark McCormack passed away in 2003, Chiang gave a Harvard Law School keynote, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.harbus.org\/2009\/What-They-Dont-Teach-4531\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">What They Don\u2019t Teach You at Stanford Business School&#8221;<\/a> where he cited his mentor a half dozen times or more. Believe. The. Manufactured. Rumor.<\/p>\n<p>Here is the congruent and coherent, rebuttal<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;I think I&#8217;m very empathetic toward other people&#8217;s experiences.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<blockquote><p>I know those situations aren&#8217;t easy. I&#8217;ve never been traded or released, but I can imagine how that might feel.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>You see, there is a core theme of mentorship. It courses through the fraternity of quarterbacks no mater what laundry they&#8217;re wearing on their backs.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Brady expanded further<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>I would never, ever feel that way about when Jimmy got traded, when <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/2578570\/jacoby-brissett\">Jacoby [Brissett]<\/a> got traded. I&#8217;ve kept in touch with all those guys. When <a href=\"https:\/\/www.espn.com\/nfl\/player\/_\/id\/8644\/matt-cassel\">Matt Cassel<\/a> was gone.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Tom Brady mentors as much as he gets mentored.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>All these guys I&#8217;ve worked with, I felt like I had such a great relationship with all the quarterbacks I&#8217;ve worked with. I kept in touch with basically everybody.
