In the middle of winter, <\/span><\/span><\/span>on a Friday night, <\/span><\/span><\/span>I stumbled upon a <\/span><\/span><\/span>Universal platform called <\/span><\/span><\/span>Clubhouse <\/span><\/span><\/span>and<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>explored the room called<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153<\/span><\/span>Bitcoin Escape Velocity, Retrace, Fear of Losing Status<\/span><\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d. <\/span><\/span><\/span>I <\/span><\/span><\/span>met several lovely strangers who<\/span><\/span> <\/span>later became my teammates. Larry <\/span><\/span><\/span>Chaing <\/span><\/span><\/span>was moderating the room and <\/span><\/span><\/span>allowed me on stage <\/span><\/span><\/span>where I <\/span><\/span><\/span>eventually <\/span><\/span><\/span>share<\/span><\/span>d<\/span><\/span> <\/span>my story about how I got into Bitcoin.  <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I have always been fascinated with technology since I was in high school<\/span><\/span>,<\/span><\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I <\/span><\/span><\/span>replied<\/span><\/span>, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153and I remember being the only female, besides the teacher, in an elective class called B.A.S.I.C.<\/span><\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

I<\/span><\/span>t took me a few minutes to introduce myself, <\/span><\/span><\/span>but my message was clear that I am passionate about learning<\/span><\/span>, investing in myself,<\/span><\/span> <\/span>and helping others <\/span><\/span><\/span>do the same<\/span><\/span>.  <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153My father was a government economic teacher at a Catholic hi<\/span><\/span>gh school after he served in the Marines,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I said, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153and <\/span><\/span><\/span>he taught me the value of saving money.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I said something about how during my first year of teaching, I invested in a 403B and the financial advisor praised me <\/span><\/span><\/span>for<\/span><\/span> <\/span>investing<\/span><\/span> <\/span>so early in my career<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Not many teachers invest, you are doing the right thing,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d she said<\/span><\/span>.  <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

 <\/span><\/span>I realized that <\/span><\/span><\/span>in the past 16 years <\/span><\/span><\/span>I have been holding on to <\/span><\/span><\/span>a <\/span><\/span><\/span>403B like it was <\/span><\/span><\/span>very valuabl<\/span><\/span>e, but Bitcoin was arguably becoming a better investment<\/span><\/span> <\/span>option for me<\/span><\/span>.  <\/span><\/span><\/span>I even made<\/span><\/span> <\/span>decisions about my<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>j<\/span><\/span>ob and location <\/span><\/span><\/span>based on a secure <\/span><\/span><\/span>retirement plan, for example, I never thought of moving out of <\/span><\/span><\/span>Viginia <\/span><\/span><\/span>for fear that I would start <\/span><\/span><\/span>all over again <\/span><\/span><\/span>at the bottom of the retirement Tier.  That was what I was told<\/span><\/span>, but Bitcoin gave me hope about my future<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>  Even though I knew Bitcoin disrupted my thinking about centralized gover<\/span><\/span>nment and bank system, I <\/span><\/span><\/span>explored <\/span><\/span><\/span>Bitcoin and <\/span><\/span><\/span>discovered<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>transparency in the<\/span><\/span>se<\/span><\/span> <\/span>engineering <\/span><\/span><\/span>and technology fields.  <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u00e2\u20ac\u0153I see Bitcoin like my retirement,<\/span><\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u009d I said, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153because<\/span><\/span> <\/span>if I need to borrow against my Bitcoin,<\/span><\/span> <\/span>then<\/span><\/span> <\/span>I would pay myself back <\/span><\/span><\/span>with <\/span><\/span><\/span>Bitcoin<\/span><\/span>.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

 I mentioned that I began<\/span><\/span> <\/span>reading Inventing Bitcoin by Yan <\/span><\/span><\/span>Prizkar<\/span><\/span>, <\/span><\/span><\/span>Fiat Standard: Debt Slavery Alternative to Human Civilization by <\/span><\/span><\/span>Saifedean<\/span><\/span> <\/span>Ammous, <\/span><\/span><\/span>and <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Bitcoin Mining Network by <\/span><\/span><\/span>Coinshares<\/span><\/span> <\/span>Research.  <\/span><\/span><\/span>Alexandra<\/span><\/span>, who later became my teammate,<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>recommended that I watch <\/span><\/span><\/span>Michael Saylor<\/span><\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s videos<\/span><\/span> <\/span>as <\/span><\/span><\/span>well<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

That night, <\/span><\/span><\/span>I made a verbal agreement with Larry and hundreds of witnesses, that <\/span><\/span><\/span>we <\/span><\/span><\/span>would write a glorified book report about <\/span><\/span><\/span>similarities of <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Mobile Wave and The Bitcoin Wave<\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span><\/span>Five of us had one stone in <\/span><\/span><\/span>common, a<\/span><\/span> <\/span>book.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>Michael Saylor is the founder and principal shareholder of MicroStrategy. MicroStrategy 2020 is a Modern Analytics, Open Architecture, Enterprise Platform for Intelligence applications.<\/span><\/span> <\/span>The guy is <\/span><\/span><\/span>very bright<\/span><\/span> <\/span>in a <\/span><\/span><\/span>dazzling<\/span><\/span> <\/span>way<\/span><\/span>! <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Larry<\/span><\/span> <\/span>generously<\/span><\/span> <\/span>tied <\/span><\/span><\/span>The Mobile Wave <\/span><\/span><\/span>to a<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Bitcoin Wave<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>It makes sense <\/span><\/span><\/span>to me <\/span><\/span><\/span>because, <\/span><\/span><\/span>Saylor <\/span><\/span><\/span>brilliantly <\/span><\/span><\/span>stated that The Mobil Wave was marked by<\/span><\/span> <\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153Information <\/span><\/span><\/span>Re<\/span><\/span>volution.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d (<\/span><\/span>Saylor, <\/span><\/span><\/span>16). <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>Information Revolution is characterized by,<\/span><\/span> <\/span>“disruption to the social s<\/span><\/span>tructure, political systems, and <\/span><\/span><\/span>economics<\/span><\/span>.<\/span><\/span>” (<\/span><\/span>17<\/span><\/span>).<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>As you read this book, look for patterns between Saylor\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s <\/span><\/span><\/span>book, the original author, <\/span><\/span><\/span>and <\/span><\/span><\/span>this one.<\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span><\/span>I <\/span><\/span><\/span>appreciate Saylor’s expertise <\/span><\/span><\/span>and method <\/span><\/span><\/span>so much that I <\/span><\/span><\/span>will <\/span><\/span><\/span>borrow ideas from <\/span><\/span><\/span>him <\/span><\/span><\/span>to explain the Bitcoin Wave<\/span><\/span> <\/span>and educate <\/span><\/span><\/span>the world<\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n

I believe we live in exciting times with exciting opportunities everywhere.  <\/span><\/span><\/span>Bitcoin is not everywhere yet, but <\/span><\/span><\/span>mobile information <\/span><\/span><\/span>travel<\/span><\/span>s <\/span><\/span><\/span>fast <\/span><\/span><\/span>around the world that <\/span><\/span><\/span>Bitcoin <\/span><\/span><\/span>is <\/span><\/span><\/span>\u00e2\u20ac\u0153a <\/span><\/span><\/span>peer-to-peer<\/span><\/span> <\/span>electronic cash, a new form of digital money that can be transferred between people or computers without any trusted middleman (such as a bank), and whose issuance is not under the control of any single party\u00e2\u20ac\u009d <\/span><\/span><\/span>(<\/span><\/span>Prizkar<\/span><\/span>, 1)<\/span><\/span>. <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/span> <\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n
