You apply and they accelerate you for approximately 12 weeks. I was and am a fan. I went to many startup mentorship events, demo days and Startup Schools.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Then one year, I got cut.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>YC had gotten too popular for li&#8217;l old me. I was caught in a &#8220;numbers game&#8221;. There wasn&#8217;t enough space.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>All my life I&#8217;ve been told three isnt enough space. &#8220;Don&#8217;t sit there mao mao. Bu ko dee fong&#8221;.&#8221; Thats Chinglish from my Shanghainese grandpa for, <strong><em>Don&#8217;t sit on my lap, you&#8217;re too big and there isn&#8217;t enough space<\/em><\/strong>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Well, I was 5&#8217;11&#8221; when I was 10 so I learned to make space. After YC turned me away, I annexed the space next to YC. &#8220;Interior Door&#8221; is the space next to YC. I squatted 10,000 square feet of space. rented a party tent and got VIP chairs.
