It&#8217;s #SXSW.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Like any Hall of Fame athlete, there is a lot that goes on behind-the-scenes. Yup, I just compared myself to a QB.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>#1\/ Invites that land in my email.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Surprisingly few events are emailed to <a href=\"mailto:larry@duck9.com\">larry@duck9.com<\/a>.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>#2\/ an &#8220;annual&#8221;<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>University of Texas hosts an annual sxsw event<\/div>\n<div><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/event\/15440433753\">https:\/\/www.eventbrite.com\/event\/15440433753<\/a><\/div>\n<div>It&#8217;s good! I don&#8217;t remember if I helped. I don&#8217;t remember if I stimulated the conversation to start, up a startup party. But it leads to my next point<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>#3 helping to engineer up a party<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>You can just guess who is hosting. For example, Kauffman foundation. They support StartX (formerly SSE Labs). They started small in 2011. Now they do more. Their startup space was nicely anchored on 6th Street.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Another example is #MeatUp8. It is annual and at Fogo.
