Suppose We Sold At The Top

July, 1932, the October 1929 crash finally bottomed, down 90%. NYT article at the time noted “Optimism and Pessimism Absent.”  Brokers, bored, played a game with imaginary clients: “Suppose” as in “Suppose I sold my securities at the top – what could I buy now?”
