The One Thing You Can Positively Change On Your Credit Application

by Larry Chiang on April 6, 2017

By Larry Chiang
I see tons of credit apps. A verrrrry common mistake is to use a small business email name, at gmail dot com. Your email nomenclature should be your real first and last name at gmail.
For example, DJbrunchANDbagels @gmail.com feels like a small business owner with irregular income. As a credit underwriter, it sets off all sorts of bells and whistle *alarms*.
As a credit expert, I am mentoring you to use your real name.

As a credit underwriter, the best credit applicants are transparent with their legal name. As an expert consumer credit coach straddling both sides of the credit underwriting table, I’m divulging these great tips about your email.
-1- connect your real name email to Amazon. Having the same email address you apply for an American Express card is PLATINUM (pun intended), for when the Amex credit underwriter sees your email is connected to Amazon.
Yes, Larry.chiang@yahoo is connected to Amazon. Yes, underwriters use an API to run email address of credit applicants to see if they’re on YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, eBay, etc
-2- Use gmail filters as a consumer credit applicant.

To create a filter, do so inside gMail.

How can I help? Email me Lawrence.Chiang+duck9@gmail.com

If you work at Accenture, substitute duck9 for Accenture.

The credit underwriter will strip away your gmail filter and guess that your core email Lawrence.Chiang has an augmented +sxsw, +eBay, +Amazon. Any credit applicant who knows basic, basic computer science is definitely making over $100k*
*credit applicants lie by inflating their income 10-15%

-3- Email that shows you’re a homeowner. Using your cable, Verizon AT&T email conveys that you’re a homeowner that pays the utility.
-4- Basic work email.
I like it. But, I also don’t like it because it’s just employment. Plus, often when we see a work email on a credit app, the length of employment is under 2 years. [Not good]
If you wanna get advanced… Take that brand spanking new work email and connect it to Amazon, PayPal, Facebook.
-5- Whatever email address you’re using…, make sure PayPal has it listed as one of your max 7 email addresses.

Yes, get a payPal account. Yes, confirm a bank account that links to PayPal. Yes, this helps your email boost your credit score.
