Hi Larry,

Put on your party hats – we’re opening the doors early for Pledge 1% members at SXSW Startup Night!

For the second year, we’re partnering with Tech.Co to host Startup Night, one of the biggest events of SXSW. As an official SXSW event, doors open to the public at 8 pm. As an extra perk – if you’re a Pledge 1% member – you get VIP access starting at 7 pm! Talk about a win-win! Don’t miss this opportunity to jump the line, have a drink on us, and meet other Pledge 1% members!

Startup Night will be held at Maggie Mae’s in downtown Austin on Saturday, March 10th. RSVP now to be a Pledge 1% VIP and join the Pledge 1% Pre-party at SXSW! (Note that these perks apply to any employees of your company who plan to attend – early entry will be awarded on a first come, first served basis).

We also encourage you to #PledgeItForward by inviting other CEOs/leaders in your network to take the pledge and join you in the VIP line. Feel free to forward them this note or the RSVP linkthey can actually take the pledge directly in the Tech.co RSVP form.

We’ll be in Austin all week. If you have any big news to share, events, or want to meet while in town, email our team at members@pledge1percent.org!

Best,
Amy

Geoff – Funny thing about PBS. You can always tell it is pledge week by looking at the TV listings. If they”re are showing music shows with artists from the past, you know it is pledge week. They do not show those kinds of programs during regular programming, or should I say non-pledge week programming as pledge weeks seem about as regular as non-pledge weeks. And they are not “keeping the music alive. Back in the “80”s they were keeping big band music alive. Now that that generation has died off, they aren”t keeping it alive much any more. Twenty years from now PBS won”t be playing music from the “60”s. They aren”t keeping music alive, they are sucking up to the people who have money. As soon as that group dies, so does the music.
