Your Revenue “Cherry”

by Larry Chiang on June 30, 2015

Larry Chiang landed on the New York Times Best Selling list 09-09-09 by writing WTDTYASBS. Hollywood optioned WTDTYASBS’s scene treatments because as CEO of Duck9, he hosted film festival parties at Sundance and SXSW. He’s testified before Congress and during TV interviews he tracks his own “mentor mentions per press interview” (#MMPPI) His mentors are Gerri Detweiler and Mark McCormack. Yes Gerri Detweiler of “Ultimate Credit Handbook” fame and Mark McCormack of, “What They Don’t Teach You at Harvard Business School” fame. Play and practice entrepreneurship with Larry’s, #CS183.

A lot of founders still have their hymen. You do not want to be a revenue virgin. You do not want to be a cliche Silicon Valley founder who raises a round of VC, institutional money, only to then never get one paying customer.
Pop your revenue cherry.Do not be a loser and sell VCs on investing but never selling a real world customer. It is the academic equivalent of getting Colgate, Dartmouth or Duke to admit you to college, but then never getting a job in-the-real-world because you cannot ‘sell’ and employer to hire you.

In the same way I make sure book smart people are not street dumb…,

As an engineer, I’m mentoring you to #PopYourYcherry. Don’t let Y= 0, the way it was zero for #NickTesla {#GEfounderpic.twitter.com/chIEvE2qwZ

Do not let your company produce “X” amount of value, only to find that your “Y” equals zero.
