$5,000 Tax Refund DoGE And Doggy

by Larry Chiang on February 19, 2025

Elon Musk Mulls $5,000 Tax Refund Checks Amidst White House Saying He’s Not DOGE Head | Isaiah Richard, TechTimes
The White House’s announcement comes as a surprise as Musk has been politically active in recent weeks
Reports about Americans getting the so-called “DOGE Dividend” are now blowing up online, and the Elon Musk claims that he will talk to President Donald Trump about it. However, there are no guarantees that this DOGE Dividend of $5,000 will come in the form of taxpayer refund checks.
This comes just as the White House revealed that Musk is not the head of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). It has been widely believed that he is, but that seems to not be the case.

A possible “DOGE Dividend” is now the talk of the town over at X, especially since DOGE has been reported to have saved a lot of money after many federal agencies laid off huge numbers of employees.
Instead of being kept from the public, the possibility that the money will be returned to Americans in the form of tax refund checks began floating around the internet.
Musk replied on X that he’ll run the idea over with Trump.
The proposal for the said dividend claimed that DOGE’s total savings totaled $400 billion, and James Fishback, Azoria CEO, claimed that they only need to take 20% of these savings and divide it among 79 million taxpayers in the country, which would grant $5,000 in rebate each.
DOGE Head Controversy: Is Elon Musk Not Its Head?
That being said, Musk is embroiled in a new controversy as the White House recently denied that he is the head of DOGE, further saying that he has no authority to make decisions over the governing body’s actions, according to a report by Reuters.
Instead, the White House said that Musk is merely a consultant of the president regarding the newly established government watchdog, and the billionaire has no real power in effecting said changes.
