Day 6: CAROLINE’S REVENGE
omg my jaw is on floor. some revelations (in no particular order):
-Caroline doctored different “internal” and “external” versions of Alameda’s balance sheets that removed certain line items. Line items like Alameda’s loans to insiders or open term loans. Even Alameda’s balance sheet had seven “alts” 😂😂
-Chinese bribe: to withdraw the $1bn of funds stuck on OKX, Alameda used wallets of Thai prostitutes on the exchange. Caroline said Ryan Salame confirmed the identities of the prostitutes. Caroline referred to the bribe as “the thing”. Trabucco knew about the bribe, he was in a Signal chat.
-Genesis routinely conducted business transactions worth hundreds of millions on telegram. basically: “hey can you send us $500m”
-Sam yelled at Caroline and made her cry, saying it was her fault Alameda was in such a bad financial state. Caroline says she was in a “constant state of dread”
-Caroline said sam was a utilitarian who “didnt think rules like dont lie or dont steal fit into his mental framework”
-Sam was attempting to raise $1bn from Saudi prince MBS to help fill the hole in customers funds
-Think there may have been illegal phone/electronics usage during the session today. Would NOT recommend doing anything illegal at SDNY, friends!!!
