Jensen received his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering from Oregon State University in 1984, and his master’s degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University in 1992.
After college he was a director at LSI Logic and a microprocessor designer at $AMD, Inc.
At 30 years old in 1993, Huang co-founded Nvidia with Chris Malachowsky and Curtis Priem and became the CEO and president.
Jensen has served as president and CEO since its inception and has no plans to give it up.
In the list of Top-Paid Tech CEOs in the United States in 2022, Jensen ranked at number 29th at only $24M, only ~10% of Alphabet’s CEO Sundar Pichai.
Jensen Huang’s owns ~3% of Nvidia and his net worth is $54.2B as of Jan 27, 2024.
Jensen’s net worth would be much bigger if Nvidia issued some performance-based compensation package like what Elon Musk got from Tesla.
