- Dr. Ricardo Duchesne responds to Helen Andrews’ interview arguing that wokeness stems from feminine psychology treating disagreement as emotional harm requiring punishment, making institutional feminization persistent beyond conservative election wins.
- He identifies deeper causes: feminism’s roots in classical liberalism’s equality principles that dismantle traditional hierarchies, combined with capitalism’s evolution into a service economy favoring feminine traits for optimization in sectors like education, healthcare, and retail.
- Duchesne notes this feminization reshapes men toward grooming, consumerism, and reduced stoicism while knowledge economies select compliant, less argumentative profiles including Asian men suited to routinized bureaucratic roles.

I still think Helen Andrews is dealing with a symptom that misses the deeper structural forces behind the “great feminization” of Western institutions.
She is correct that wokeness is connected to the way women treat disagreements as emotional harm to be punished and silenced; and that this feminization will persist, regardless of how many times simple conservatives win elections, because Western institutions are now dominated by this feminine psychology.
But, first, we can’t forget the obvious connection between this feminization and the consolidation of feminism, an ideology that is rooted in classical liberalism, with its principle of equality of rights and eradication of traditional hierarchies.
Second, the great feminization has deeper roots in the shift of capitalism towards a service economy (healthcare, education, retail, entertainment, customer satisfaction), where feminine traits are deemed to be more optimizing.
This feminization has also extended beyond women reshaping men as well. Capitalism is no longer keen on traditional male norms of stoicism, self-reliance, low vanity; it prefers men who like to spend on grooming, fashion, skincare, hair products, and on service-oriented pleasures.
Likewise, the knowledge economy, and science departments in universities, prefer not only compliant women who follow routine, but Asian men, who are naturally more effeminate, less argumentative and better fits for routinization and optimization.
