My theorem is that one well hosted sxsw can make your career
As with all (geometry) theorems, the proof is 5-10 steps. Most people in the general population just give up after 2 or 3 steps. Over and above a 10-step recipe, people rollover and give up. That’s why my Gua Gua Guacamole wins annually at SXSW (The Four Seasons uses my recipe for guacamole )
Before you host an event in 2016, attend some with me in 2015. Here is a list that my friends at Eventbrite started:

The Four Seasons is the home-base for my merry band of founders and pre-entrepreneurs.

It’s why NPR called me the “Entrepreneur Sherpa”
I wrote a post on optimizing your sxsw expenses by “Hacking Eventbrite” in a post called “Guacamole Recipe 11. How to use the Larry Chiang rebate model to sellout Your Eventbrite Event at a SXSW and Beyond”. In the comments please link to that article
