Cory Klippsten Shitcoins-On-#Bitcoin (SOB) #Bitcoin

I really, REALLY hate false narratives about Bitcoin, and the new claim that Shitcoins-On-Bitcoin (SOB) are of paramount important to Bitcoin adoption is one of the dumbest and most self-serving.

SOB VCs are wrong about Shitcoins On Bitcoin, just like the S.V.B. VCs before them were wrong about Shitcoins Vs Bitcoin. Most of the people trying to craft and promote the false narrative about SOBs being important to Bitcoin adoption are… SOB VCs.

Note that:

1) I like several of the folks spending time on the tech, including Casey and Rijndael (and sometimes Eric)

2) I hope the tech exploration leads to some cool useful things beyond pump-and-dump schemes, but I am highly skeptical of the claim that jpegs and memecoins are some kind of primitives that will deliver on the unfulfilled promises of blockchain, crypto, and NFTs that burned through $70B of shitcoin VC capital with no real-world value to show for it, and I share the view held by most people I respect that all of their associated tokens will continue their march toward zero in BTC terms, as they always have.

3) I don’t care much about jpegs and memecoins, don’t think they’ll matter, and I wrote about that on Jan 1 x.com/coryklippsten/…

And that’s coming from someone who worked on Silicon Valley VC-backed marketplaces for a living before Bitcoin. If I thought jpegs and rare sats mattered for Bitcoin adoption, pump-and-dumpers would already be trading  on SwanEx.
