Fees Taxes and Fees on Uber Eats

one of #UberEats’s deceptive practices is the “Taxes and Fees” (which should be broken down into two separate categories), it’s really Fees and Taxes (e.g., on a particular order I’m seeing other fees = 70% of taxes and fees, or in this case words, the fees are 20% the order cost.

This alone is bad.

But it gets worse:

When you have a promotion, e.g. 2-for-1, they “make back” money on fees, because they charge fee on the non-discounted amount of goods sold, so it’s effectively double fee.

But it gets worse:

They also ask you tip on original cart value, not including promotion, but including (it seems) taxes and fees. That 10% default? not quite!

But it gets worse:

Some of these items you’re buying in a bundle, I suspect, the restaurants inflate the price and bundle to make it look like a deal. e.g., a $15 lunch item, they mark up to $28 and do 2-for-1. So it still could be a savings of $2 on paid to restaurant, but it’s then made back hand-over-fist on fees.
