Hackers tried to log in with failure and then called in to Interactive Brokers
by Larry Chiang on January 24, 2025
I couldn’t be more stoked tonight about one of the two custodians I use to safeguard client assets. Hackers tried to log in with failure and then called in to Interactive Brokers with all of my client’s personal information and CORRECT security questions. During that phone call they sensed something was off since I place all transactions for my clients and said they were unable to process the request. Then they locked down the account, sent the call-llog to the cyber security team, fraud security team, and management. Client then tried calling in to get a new password three times and was denied, I was denied, and in 24hrs we would both receive a call from security with next steps. So glad I did my research and due diligence on brokerages before moving my company.

| Disclosure: IBKR pays me ZERO dollars at all as an advisor using their platform. The paid me ZERO dollars for making this post. I was sincerely so impressed that I wanted to give them a shout-out to their security and customer service for their extremely competent work today. |
