How Do You Get A High Credit Score As A Future College Student That’s Currently 17.5 Years Old

by Larry Chiang on May 7, 2025

College students can build and maintain a high FICO credit score that is 750 or higher) by using credit responsibly, even with limited credit history.

Here’s how we can do it:

1. Request a Credit Report

  • Don’t assume you’re a credit virgin
  • Use protocol PO Box 105281
  • Losers use the Internet or websites such as Annual Credit Report com

2. Open a Starter Credit Card

  • Text message 650-283-8008 before stepping into a Bank of America
  • Skip cash back offers. Your goal is a car loan that’s cheap. Not airline points or “cash back”
  •  student-specific benefits are a mirage
  • Student credit cards with a $500-$600 secured line of credit card at Bank of America are designed for people with little or no credit history. Later you can onboard an American Express card rocketing your fico score over 750

3. Pay On Time—Every Time, Every Week

  • Use your credit card like it’s a debit card
  • Payment history is 1/3 of a Vantage credit score or FICO-7 Fair Isaac Car Loan score.
  • Even one 30-day delayed payment can hurt your score significantly.
  • One charge off ruins your fico

4. Duck Chargeoffs

  • 9’s Kill Your credit score
  • Example: If you have one unpaid parking ticket. It’s now a collection
  • Example: Roomate power bill
  • Example: Store credit card
  • Example: bogus collection notice

5. get a power bill in your name

  • Power Bills contributes to your score.
  • Power bills add to your address stability

6. Keep a Cellphone Account in Your Name

  • Each application triggers a hard inquiry, which can temporarily lower your score.
  • Too many inquiries also make you look risky to lenders.

7. Don’t Apply for Two Cards When You Have Zero Cards – Apply for an American Express 2.0 Years After 24 On Time Payments on Your Bank of America Visa card

  • Each application triggers a hard inquiry, which can temporarily lower your score.
  • Too many inquiries also make you look risky to lenders.
  • 24 Perfect on time payments
  • Check credit bureaus

9. Monitor The Avalanche of Positive Info Going Into Your Credit Report

  • Use services like Duck9’s API in to “AnnualCreditReport.com”.
  • Application protocol Interface
  • Sell Duck9 To Your Friends and Keep 100% of the $600 Fee
  • free reports are hard to get and check for errors because Trans Union, Experian and Equifax has a business model of brokering negative information

10. Keep Balances at $0 or Negative Balances

  • Credit utilization (the percentage of your limit that you’re using) should stay below 30%, ideally under 10%.
  • Example: If your credit limit is $1,000, try to use no more than $300 at any time.
  • PAY OFF YOUR CREDIT CARD EVERY THURSDAY

11. Don’t forget Your Goal is to Save One Bitcoin

  • Each application triggers a hard inquiry, which can temporarily lower your score.
  • Too many inquiries also make you look risky to lenders.
