Managing the Treasure of Your Customers at SXSW

Starting this week, SXSW, Austin’s internationally known festival and conference, will be taking over the landscape. We want you to have the best experience possible during this dynamic time in the Capital City and we’ve compiled some tips & information for you on our dedicated SXSW service team & on our special events!

From March 10th to March 20th, we have a dedicated support team in Austin, should you experience issues with your Airbnb:

Confirm logistics with your host and let your group know specifically:

  • Check-in Time
  • Exact address and entry instructions
  • Special directions (electrical components, appliances, etc.)
  • Check-out time and instructions (remove bedsheets, take out garbage, etc.)

This year, we’ve got featured speakers and panelists from Airbnb.  If you can, be sure to check them out! 

  • Katie Dill, Head of Experience Design, will talk about how the Airbnb Experience Design team leverages pixels to create a better offline experience at all stages of the user’s journey. Talk: Designing Experiences Offline and Online
  • Steve Selzer, Experience Design Manager, will talk about the future of human-centered design, the dangers of empathizing with the needs of the few, and the importance of designing for friction and self-reflection. Talk: Human-Centered Design: Why Empathy Isn’t Enough
  • Youssef Francis & Zane Claes, Airbnb Software Engineers, along with Anya Babbitt & Sid Gidwani will talk about what happens once the things we own become truly shareable. Talk: Sharing the Internet of Things
