weaponization of the Justice System. It’s show me the man, and I’ll show you the crime.

The All-In Podcast discusses Biden’s politicized DOJ investigating @elonmusk’s SpaceX for not hiring refugees and Tesla for building a non-existent glass house.
@DavidSacks: “People who live in glass houses shouldn’t be investigating glass houses.”
@Jason: “There seems to be some Biden admin jihad against Elon. They wouldn’t invite him to the EV summit.”
@Chamath: “The DOJ sued SpaceX for DEI foot faults. They said there are not enough refugees and asylum seekers that were being hired by Space X. The problem is that the DOJ is not even allowed to hire refugees and asylum seekers.”
@DavidSacks: “Because SpaceX is a rocket company, it’s governed under the same laws as advanced weapons contractors. The whole industry has been under the belief for many years that they could only hire American citizens and green card holders for these very sensitive jobs.
The Biden admin released what they called a clarification in April 2023 called “How to Avoid Immigration-Related Discrimination when Complying with U.S. Export Control Laws.”
Until now, the U.S. government was pretty clear that you were only supposed to hire U.S. citizens and green card holders…
They now have this crazy idea that these national security companies should be hiring more refugees and asylum seekers even though this is the definition of a national security risk…
The key here is that this was only issued in April 2023, but what they’ve done with this lawsuit is go back and say from 2008 to 2022 that SpaceX is retroactively governed by this new understanding…
What they are saying is that anybody who was screened out as part of this process is entitled to backpay and lost wages since they were screened out.
In other words, it assumes that every single one of those people would have been hired by SpaceX, which is absurd because the bar for hiring at SpaceX is incredibly high.
And, if they could have got a job at SpaceX, they probably didn’t have any damages because they could probably get a job at 10 other companies as well.”
@Chamath: “When Elon bought Twitter, what effectively happened is the biggest psyop organization for the Democratic party was taken away from them. They are increasingly feeling that if X really does become the town square, that’s really bad for them…
This is the sort of death-by-a-thousand-cuts approach that the blob has in trying to bring him down… The goal is to tie him up and distract him and to take resources away, his mindshare, from working. We all know him, so he’s going to do the exact opposite.”
@DavidSacks: I’ll tell you where it all began. Biden had a press conference where he said Elon needed to be looked at…
This was the signal to all of the ambitious apparatchiks in our law enforcement agencies who are looking for advancement that he’s the target. Go after him. Find something…
This is the weaponization of the Justice System. It’s show me the man, and I’ll show you the crime.”
