What Kevin, the Minion, Can Mentor Us About “Appointment Based Learning”

by Larry Chiang on August 19, 2015

By Larry Chiang

Asking me to vote for a sxsw panel is like texting me to study the GMAT. DONT YOU JUST WANT THE KNOWLEDGE NOW!?!

South by Southwest is in March. 2016.

Waiting 6 months to get knowledge is what Peter Thiel defined as appointment based learning. We advocate getting the knowledge NOW

Let us look at the case study of Kevin, the minion character that did a huge Private Equity turnaround.

.@6502838008 Kevin didn’t wait for people to vote up his #SXSW panel or/and film. He j crushed LP “ROI”. #PEsecrets pic.twitter.com/FRQ5mOwSnR

Votes for his #SXSW film or panel don’t help you get his knowledge now. He just crushed LP “ROI” return on investment. #PEsecrets

Distribution. The PE holding company got a huge equity bump because they refocused on getting more distribution.
(Notice in the previous photo, Kevin was holding a cupcake. Cupcakes are great for doing #LeadGen. That is a different sxsw session 🙂
