Why I’m Chianging My Routines by fake Larry Chiang

by Larry Chiang on June 9, 2023

Larry Chiang’s 5th book, WTDTYASBS, launched at a Harvard Law School keynote, so he knows about grand openings (He even attends and promotes the ones he isn’t invited to also). As CEO of Duck9, he leads an army to help college student consumers get a FICO over 770. Post H.L.S. keynote, Harvard Business wrote: “What They Don’t Teach You at Stanford Business School” (his latest Harbus post: “Setting an intention for SXSWi”.

Lately I’ve been “making it through” the weekends here in Austin

  • 2-3am bedtime –> 10:30am wakeup

But then “resting” when I return to Dallas for the upcoming week

  • 10pm bedtime –> 6am (attempted wakeup) which turns into 8am wakeup + 1 hr nap 1-2x during the week

I’ve realized this is not ideal, so I’m drawing a line

What do you think? (^) Do you like it?

No but I really am drawing a line where I sleep and wake at more consistent times.

Currently from the above you can see my sleep/wake times can vary by almost 5 full hours which is non-optimal as best.

Studies show how sleep/wake times are better to be consistently the same each day.

While I may not be able to nail that, I can certainly do better than 5 hours of variance.

Here’s my plan:

Weekdays: 12am bedtime —> 7:30am wakeup

Weekends: 2am bedtime –> 7:30am wakeup

I’m keeping wakeup consistent and letting bedtime fluctuate just a little bit. Wish me luck 🍀

P.S. I named this article with “Chianging” my routines because my new mentor Larry Chiang has me hustling here in Austin, TX but I’m just paste copying as much as possible to see that success. 💰💰🔑
