Larry Chiang writes about entrepreneurship and pre-entrepreneurship. He edits the Bloomberg BusinessWeek channel “What They Don’t Teach You at Business School”.
After Chiang’s Harvard Law keynote, Harvard Business wrote: “What They Don’t Teach You at Stanford Business School“ (the same title as his NY Times bestseller). If you read his scandalously awesome “What a Supermodel Can Teach a Stanford MBA” and “How to Get Man-Charm”, you will like his latest post that helps you hack credit:
By Larry Chiang
I have made millions from one simple fact – paper is the killer app.
No, its not just because I am Chinese and my forefathers invented paper… It is because when it comes to credit, you have to mail in disputes.
There is a credit law that governs all of us in the USA. He is like a retarded king that requires all question be posed via the written format. This law is called FCRA (fair credit reporting act).
IT states that all complaints via phone have zero CONSUMER right
It states that all complaints via email are useless too and have zero consumer rights.
IT states that all complaints via the Internet’s ‘world wide web’ have zero CONSUMER right
You have to use snail mail. Lick an envelope. Peel a stamp.
Sure your bank encourages you to use the web form or call, but make zero mistake… you have no rights
Its like when your girlfriend says “Nothing is wrong!”
Rest assured: something is wrong>
Right now I am lobbying for the “Larry Chiang Electronic Credit Score Protection Act”. Previously,
– No one has passed a law in their own name if they’re not a Congressman
– No one has a law passed in their name if they’re not dead
I don’t plan on being either dead or in Congress
The “Larry Chiang Electronic Credit Score Protection Act” argues that you should have rights via email, www or other electronic written formats. It would also address the legality of fax signatures as it pertains to the credit world.
I plan on getting this law passed for less than $1000 and then blogging about it. Call it hubris from getting the CARD Act passed with a college student provisional that catapulted us into the media limelight, real world parties (like TED) and best events.
A fax machine is a device that teleports your page to another printing device while preserving the original paper. You can fax the same page over and over and pretty much ‘beam’ the paper everywhere 🙂
Ok, seriously, gripe, complain, moan and berate to these three agencies
