As an Asian Engineer Entrepreneur, Go Partially Retarded

by Larry Chiang on December 31, 2012

By Larry Chiang

I pattern recognize.

As an entrepreneur with a last name that rhymes with Wang, I pattern replicate. As a Chinese person with an IQ well north of 180, I have gained adoption and distribution by going partially retarded.

People connect with Larry Chiang, IQ 88. He is approachable and fluffy like a Shih Tzu with an IQ sub 90

That phrase, “partially retarded” is (artistically) signature stated by Morton Downey Jr’s character in Tropic Thunder. He was mentoring a fellow thespian and taught, “Never go full retard”.

Charles Huang and his co-founder and brother Kai Huang sold DDR Pads. They made $3-4,000,000 selling Dance Dance Revolution accessory physical pads.

Without VC money, they sold it for over $100,000,000. Read about it in TechCrunch

https://www.techcrunch.com/2012/12/30/how-the-huang-brothers-bootstrapped-guitar-hero-to-a-billion-dollar-business/?icid=tc_home_art&

I recommend that if you’re taking ENGR 145, you should pattern iterate their pattern.

There is a full transcript of Charles Huang here
