I am the guy who first came up with DJ up an API. In the way that a song used to not overlap, API’s now overlap. It is like dj-ing up two API’s. It even has a meme #djAPI

DJ-ing API’s help you move to the right side of the bell curve.

For example, in New York at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, Nathan Altman, Mike Mitchell, and Derek Pacque debuted “Coat Chex”. They not only leveraged APIs, they also DJ’d up two conferences.
