How a Male Supermodel Travels

by Larry Chiang on December 14, 2012

By Larry Chiang

In short, back up housing.

Simultaneous housing that is in parallel. Hotel is in one location with back-up housing super close by.

For example, SXSW is a hot steaming crowded mess.

In 2010, I double booked myself at the Driscoll and the 98 San Jacinto property.

I posted this hiLarryAss video but I was already a resident.

In 2011, the hotel W opened and I used my Starwood (Westin– “Who’s He Sleeping With??!” campaign) to book the newly opened property on sixth in Downtown Austin. Of course, I already booked the Four Seasons in parallel.

Q: Isn’t that just plain wasteful? Larry Chiang Answer: It has massive ROI.

First of all, it’s real world insurance.

Second, having two sets of rooms gets a return by 1/ placeholding w sales catering the fact that you’re committed to the property 2/ having house is like real world treasure in case a major celeb needs a green room that is super duper VIP green room. 3/ two properties where you execute Gua Gua Guacamole is like fighting a two front war with house money and 5x the infantry

How?!

I learned from my mentor Tom Kosnik who teaches Technology Entrepreneurship, ENGR 145.
