This is going to sound oxymoronic but is genius in a way that I value. You want to seem like you’re the crasher of a party YOU are hosting.
Let me repeat, when you host a party, do not be the cliche host that is stressed about people having a good time. Be the carefree +1’s, plus one. This. Applies. To. Austin.
So many times, conferences are held in Austin as a destination. Austin, as a city is on fire and draws as a destination. Austin should lever the fact that industry’s have industry specific meetings.
Let us change gears and focus on an entrepreneurship class (CS 178, How to start a startup):

There were portions in your lecture @JoshuaBaer that Silicon Valley kinda says, sorta whispers BUT IS CRITICAL Re starting company. #cs178
Larry Chiang (@LarryChiang)
Coincidence #1 @JoshuaBaer. We both reached break-even before we incorporated. #cs178

(I wrote about how to accept money. I blogged about how to take in revenue. I created a hashtag: #CSmajorCRO for this express purpose).

Larry Chiang (@LarryChiang)
Coincidence #2 @JoshuaBaer. We both did our company nomenclature off of our mentor’s company. #cs178

Larry Chiang (@LarryChiang)
@JoshuaBaer did a sequel company. Spin Out companies are genius.

Larry Chiang (@LarryChiang)
@JoshuaBaer‘s first company was a division of his mentors company.

Larry Chiang (@LarryChiang)
#CS178 @JoshuaBaer have you heard of the startup name game “three quarters baked” #3qb bit.ly/buster145123qb

Now, back to home field advantage at home.

Last year, the industry conference you’re crashing had the same layout as this year (obvi) pic.twitter.com/f2kVxA4LLb pic.twitter.com/5ZXP5HuROw

NAPBS is SEPT 20-22. It’s at the JW Marriott.

I hope you’re good at googling what NAPBS is because there is so much ancillary work to augment their effort. Email me to expand…
