How to Ace an Undergrad Entrepreneurship Class

by Larry Chiang on November 30, 2012

By Larry Chiang

Working hard and working smart is critical. The working hard part is up to you.

I give special homework that makes people rich. I am hiLarryAss like that. This event/party/mixer is on my radar for December 2 at University of Texas

Larry Chiang ✰ (@LarryChiang) 11/28/12 1:47 PM Austin Business Journal RT @plaintext @Taylor_ATX Co-founder speed dating event set for UT entrepreneurs #1ss

1ss is “one semester startup”. In one semester, you start a startup in one semester. ENGR 145 is a class where you start a company in one quarter at Stanford.

Does your college have a class like this?! I put ENGR 145 unofficially at University of Pennsylvania (Wharton).

By “speed dating” it means meeting UT undergrads as pre-entrepreneurs. You’re supposed to walk in with a list of skills. And then “hook up” with other similarly newbie pre-preneurs.

This is how I, Larry Chiang would do it.

DISCLOSURE: I screwed up my baseball career with a legendary coach, Augie Garrido because I didn’t properly prepare. I learned my lesson and kick plenty of butt now.

I’d master “1 semester Startup’s” version at Stanford. It’s called ‘engineering 145’. By master I mean spend 3 hrs cramming and preparing and googling and reading. I would start with this video that took me three years to boil down (mechanical engineering pun intended).

It moves you to the right on the entrepreneur bell curve

Then I’d text me 2-10 sentences what you learned. If they don’t suck duck butt, “congrats!-I’m-your-mentor”.

Seriously, while others are shopping for co-founders, you’re walking with my 512-775-8100 cell phone pre-programmed

Walk in on Dec 2 and know 1) you’re uber well prepared! 1b) You’re prolly on the right side of the bell curve. Your BIG 12 Entrepreneur Championship is yours to lose

Googled “GaGaGuaranteed Exits summer 2013”. You’re effen welcome

TACTIC STRATEGY #4 Say hi to Jason. And just tell the legendary Bob Metcalfe, the legendary Josh Baer that you’re wanting a JBA and that youve read “Y” number of posts from Larry Chiang

Please have “Y” be greater than 11

Don’t get a big head and don’t think about sharing equity or cash w/me. I’m plenty rich enough. It’s under the Larry Chiang 100% affiliate program.

100% shareholder equity. For u.

The GaGaGuaranteed Exit ideas are sitting there just waiting to make you (sorta) rich. They’re easy to do

They’re easier not to do

Are you a female?! I blog as a woman named Larry Chiang at Women 2.0 and answer feminine shitake about mentorship here

Call me and I’ll hold your hand (virtually) as we women boldly go explore entrepreneurship.

This is me in Texas on the TEE VEE!!!!!’
