Networking With People You Don’t Know Via the iPhone

by Larry Chiang on March 14, 2013

By Larry Chiang

So many people go to networking events hoping to get ‘discovered’. I’m not here to pooh-pooh real world events. Quite the contrary. I’m guilty of hosting 11 real world networking events at SXSW every year.

This article is to help you ‘hack networking’.

I wanted to call this article, “Networking With People You Don’t Know Via the iPhone 9”. It’s cuz when Steve Jobs texts you back, your iPhone 4.0 goes and turns into an iPhone 9. Here are ways to double your network of VIPs that you can speed-text.

-1- Google “How to get any execs cell phone using Google maps”

It works.

-2- Learn “How to Close a Deal Via Voicemail”

It’s a GigaOm article.

-3- How to Get a VC You Don’t Know to Mentor You

-4- How to Get a An Industry You Don’t Know to Mentor You

You’re welcome for my setting you up with a plan to get a network 50% that of a Stanford MBA BEFORE you get a Stanford MBA.
