Larry Chiang hacked the ‘New York Times best seller’ list by pre-promoting blog posts and live, in-real-life events 09-09-09. What They Don’t Teach You At Stanford Business School debuted at NYFW. WTDTYASBS’s avoided book festivals for distribution and instead went direct to Sundance and SXSW for book optioning. As CEO of Duck9, Chiang’s company was built on two mentors: Gerri Detweiler and Mark McCormack. They wrote “Ultimate Credit Handbook” and, “What They Don’t Teach You at Harvard Business School“, respectively. This post is about the next Silicon Valley in Palo Alto.

5b/17 #SiliconValleyNext is actually old. It’s commercializing the technologist before they commercialize the tech

5c/17 #SiliconValleyNext is an age old concept. You could never hire a Fortune 500, vp of sales, for a startup. Founders had to sell

6/17 #SiliconValleyNext needs an incredibly innovative university. That would be Stanford University, pulling away from the pack.

11/17 #SiliconValleyNext is all upside. No risk. We didn’t get an engr degree, learn Pro sales skills just to be in the 95 casualty rate. 0%

13/17 #SiliconValleyNext won’t be getting executed by your region :-0 While the idea is real and awesome. The idea is 0. It’s the execution.
