When you promote something, you are doing something that is very difficult. Sales makes people cry. Sales, and the lack of sales skills stalls out careers. Sometimes, it kills your career dead.
The concept of inventing something that sells itself or birthing an idea you just license has never worked. Peter Thiel’s chart:
I got my start doing lead generation for Peter’s Illinois engineering team. Yup, Peter used ILLINOIS engineers to do business development and new customer acquisition for PayPal. Peter is a VC now who taught CS 183. This lecture was lecture 5, CS 183b. CS 183b is a sequel class to CS 183 which is like CS 178 (the UT Startup class, not the Stanford engineering photography class 😹

Perhaps, do an 11 minute #ASW15, “afterparty”. Serve tap water and maybe sell $5 slices of pizza to rich tech execs. (So, counterintuitive, but rich execs love to get ripped off by CS majors)
