December 14 – Community Service: Ready to Learn!

Come volunteer with us and read to kids!  We will be teaming up with the Los Angeles Junior Chamber of Commerce (LAJCC) in their monthly project. Spend Saturday morning with first-grade students in at South LA elementary school by reading with them for an hour, helping with an art project, and then joining them for a snack. Event begins at 9:30 a.m and ends around 1 p.m. 

Registration is REQUIRED. Please fill out and return the application form via email or fax by Monday, December 9. Please visit the TAP-LA website for more details.

Dec. 11 – Industry Networking Dinner (Entertainment and Performing Arts)

Want to network with other TAP-LA members in your similar industry? TAP-LA is excited to start our Industry Networking series. Think of it as TAPpy hour in a more intimate setting so that everyone can get to know each other better over dinner. Because of limited space, sign ups are required and will close after 8 people are confirmed. 
 

December’s event will be in West Los Angeleson Wednesday, December 11 at 7:00 pm. Further details, including restaurant location, will be e-mailed to attendees. If you are in the entertainment or performing arts (music, theater, film, etc.) industry and are interested, please sign up here by Monday, December 9.

Dec. 19 – December Dinner Series 

Come meet TAP-LA members in a smaller setting at our monthly Dinner Series. It is a great opportunity to build connections in a smaller laid-back environment. Because of limited space, sign ups are required and will close after 8 people are confirmed. This month’s dinner will be held in downtown LA on December 19th at 7:00 p.m.Further details, including restaurant location, will be e-mailed to attendees. If interested, please sign up here by Sunday December 15th.

Professional Mentorship Program

TAP-LA is looking for enthusiastic mentors to provide one-on-one career, leadership, academics, and community involvement for Taiwanese American undergraduate students in the Los Angeles area. It is designed to empower the next generation of Taiwanese Americans to be strong leaders and build a network across generations. The program consists of monthly individual meetings determined by each mentor-mentee pairing and quarterly structured group sessions. The first meeting (mandatory attendance) to meet the mentors and mentees will be January 25, 2014 at USC. Check out the website for more details and to apply. Be a mentor and make a difference in someone’s future!
