YC Demo Day is Tomorrow, March 26

by Larry Chiang on March 21, 2013

Run ASAP.

I may be on the wrong side of the invite list, but I’m on the right side of the innovation chasm.

It’s the conservative side. Insert pic “Crossing the Innovation Chasm from the Right”

You see, I read what alpha males write. I’m reading what alpha females write also. Anyway, reading Paul Graham’s posts and R2D2 regurgitating them in a Just-In-Time fashion is a hobby of mine.

I had a team of ENGR 145 students code up a “Paul Graham/Mark Cuban/ Guy Kawasaki / Scott Rafer / Mark McCormack bit.ly link spitter-outer”. Yeah, they launched it at MobileBeat by VentureBeat and premiered it at TechCrunch August Capital’s Summer Party #8. It was called “Just-in-Time-CS-Major-CEO”. This year, students launch August 2.

Anyway, the Paul Graham post that comes to mind is bit dot ly, slash pgraham, eight, one, oh (no space). It links to https://www.paulgraham.com/founders.html

Think trying to ‘crash’ demo day on Tuesday is hard, stressful, barriered, obstacled and detour-ridden?! Try crashing an industry with whatever three-quarters baked product you have got.

That is hard.

Sprinkle in the fact tuition to your Alma Mater cost more than their house and you have a douchie road to hoe. No worries, my CS major CEO friends… read my GigaOm post on man-charming. If you’re female, read my blog posts on female-to-female charming over at Women 2.0. Yes, I blog as a woman 🙂

Just like when ‘the Oracle’ gave Kaunu Reeves seemingly bad news in “The Matrix”, my bad news I deal with myself. Im my own oracle. This isn’t a “let’s break eggs to make omelets” pattern. I do not break relationships. And there is not omelet.

This is an exercise where I experience and address personal failure. This is me eating my own dog food that I dish out in WTDTYASBS. It is my chapter 11. Failing forward.

I dared to publish Kris Krug’s picture of my friend Anna’s va-Jay-Jay when it popped out during MBFW. Her heel broke. It was in a post called “What a SuperModel Can Teach a Stanford MBA About Failure”. I think I’ll google that to read and re-read while I’m at the 7-11 on 1390 Pear Avenue across from the Computer History Museum.

Text me where the afterparty dinners are?? I’m at 650-283-8008 and at the default Evvia. Look for me at the big boy table. Table 60.
