Girlfriend, it’s Larry Chiang

by Larry Chiang on January 11, 2013

By Larry Chiang

I mentor women outside of Stanford University pretty often.

Yes I know it’s creepy how much I hang out at Berkeley (and a 1000 udder colleges, pun intended for amorous humorous purposes). But you know my motto, that was more of an accidental mission statement: You want to teach at Stanford but only date Cal (grads). Not vice versa. It is *not* a quality constraint– it’s a QUANTITY of ‘deal-flow’. Deal flow is a new term as I’m learning how to be a VC [link VC to https://alwayson.goingon.com/AOStory/What-R2D2-Can-Teach-Stanford-MBA-VC

Because of my time at UC, my LA Rose Bowl entrepreneur party parade and upcoming NYFW, New York Fashion Week, mixer in SF, and supermodel good looks… I met and meet tons of women. Many women get teased by me on the idea of pre-entrepreneurship.

Well, here is some more foreplay for you via my blogging as a woman [link “my blogging as a woman” to

MORE LARRY CHIANG, MORE!!

Ok, ok.

This keynote that I gave with no name* and no bio**. I just donned a Tommy Hilfigire tie and spoke for 3:33. It got me a teaching gig offer under ENGR 145 inside of 15 hours post keynote.

The entirety of the keynote truly lasted under four minutes

* no name- men doing keynotes at women’s conferences should be subservient

* no bio – men doing keynotes at Stanford Women in Business should be offering assistance, access and background facilitation

My path to getting wide adoption and distribution has come via you, my girlfriends. So here is an offer available only here at AlwaysOn. Text me your name to 650-283-8008 and I’ll email you back a YouTube video of me reading you a Paul Graham blog post. I’ll pick the post depending on where I guestimate you and your co-founders progress are.

If you tweet your request, I’ll wardrobe something special— if you post your request of your facebook wall with this article… Ill unbutton the top couple buttons on my Ted Baker shirt (or put a cute sweater on if shirtless is gross to you 😉
