When a franchise gets jettisoned off campus due to whatever, this gets students at other schools in the mix
For example “Summit at Stanford” was banished to Santa Clara University. It was a perfect 3-day $3000 conference that Stanford undergrads could go to for free. And display and demo products they created in ENGR 145.
I took that class 4x because I just couldn’t master it (and still can’t. But heck. I see entrepreneurship as a practice versus a perfection). Because of the invitation by STVP and MS&E, I was able to learn
– Bell curve
– Chasms
Having gone through the Aresty Executive Education program (back when Wharton had revenue requirements for execs), I had to sit amongst undergrads.
It was humbling to learn in a class of people born as young as 1999. I set my small ego aside and elbowed my way past their diminutive frame to sit in the front row. It is where the first chair of entrepreneurship sits.

It is like first chair violin.

But if you’re at De Anza, you better hustle at Startup School Oct 19. And don’t screw up this opportunity that Parkland Community College kids (heck University of Illinois students) never had.
